Carers Speak
Out
In 1999 the Government launched its national strategy for carers, with the aim of widening
the focus of health and social services to include patients and carers. This site details the
findings from a project in June 2002, which was undertaken in order to see how the situation has
changed in the last 3 years. It contains the conclusions from a survey of 3,800 carers into the
impact of carer assessments, the health of carers, NHS organisations and information needs.
